Prognostic value of inflammation-related biomarkers in patients with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs) – A systematic review and meta-analysis
#3660
Introduction: Hematological indicators of chronic systemic inflammation are among the most promising biomarkers for GEP-NENs, but their prognostic value remains controversial.
Aim(s): To evaluate associations of the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR), lymphocyte/monocyte ratio (LMR), and C-reactive protein (CRP) level with the overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and disease-free survival (DFS) of patients with GEP-NENs in a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Materials and methods: We searched the Medline, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases for the period 1 Jan 2000–20 October 2022 and manually searched the American Society of Clinical Oncology conference proceedings from 1 Jan 2017. Hazard ratios and 95% confidence intervals were extracted for analysis. Subgroup analyses were conducted to explore sources of heterogeneity, and the influence of factor grouping on the results was assessed. The effects of the cut-off values used and sample size were assessed by meta-regression.
