The importance of pathological sample review in the initial workup study in reference centers: The experience of an ENETS Center of Excellence
#4077
Introduction: Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) are complex tumors managed in specialized centers with a multidisciplinary approach. Patients often provide diagnostic studies, including histological material. Pathology department review ensures proper classification, guiding therapies, and potential clinical trial inclusion.
Aim(s): This study assesses the impact of pathological review in a reference center.
Materials and methods: Patients at ENETS Vall d'Hebron Center (Barcelona) between 2020-2022, with available paraffin material at initial diagnosis, were analyzed. Clinical and pathological variables were collected.
