The risk of venous thromboembolism in neuroendocrine neoplasms: A single center experience
#4081
Introduction: Neuroendocrine Neoplasms (NENs) are a very heterogeneous group of tumors. Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a common complication in cancer patients and one of the leading causes of mortality. There is a lack of data regarding the incidence and the impact of VTE in patients with NENs.
Aim(s): Our aim is to evaluate retrospectively the incidence and treatment of VTE in NENs patients, treated during the last 10 years in our center.
Materials and methods: All grades and sites of NENs diagnosed in our center during this period were included. Small cell lung cancers were excluded. All patients were retrospectively evaluated for VTE including Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary embolism (PE).
