The role of palliative resection of primary tumor in metastatic lung neuroendocrine tumors

#3197

Introduction: The role of palliative resection of primary tumor in metastatic lung neuroendocrine tumors (NET) is less studied.

Aim(s): To study the role of palliative resection in metastatic lung NET.

Materials and methods: Data of patients with metastatic typical carcinoid (TC) and atypical carcinoid (AC) were retrieved from Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. Inverse probability of treatment weighing (IPTW) was used to reduce selection bias and sensitivity analysis was applied to assess the potential effect of unmeasured cofounding factors.
