Treatment response and survival in 163 metastatic colorectal neuroendocrine carcinomas: A prospective cohort from the Nordic NEC registry
#4359
Introduction: Colorectal neuroendocrine carcinoma (CR-NEC) is a rare and aggressive disease. Most cases are metastatic at diagnosis and palliative chemotherapy is the only systemic treatment option.
Aim(s): Determine the clinical and molecular characteristics, treatment response, and survival in a large prospective cohort of metastatic CR-NEC.
Materials and methods: The Nordic NEC registry (2013-2017) identified 163 CR-NEC patients receiving palliative chemotherapy. Pathology was re-evaluated according to the 2019 WHO classification.
