Trends of incidence and prognosis of thymic neuroendocrine neoplasms - A survival analysis on 320 patients
#3109
Introduction: Thymic NENs (TNENs) accounting for only 0.4% of NENs and 3.5 - 4.3% of anterior mediastinal tumors and are more aggressive than their pulmonary and abdominal counterparts. There is no ENETS guidelines for TNENs currently. Previous studies focused on treatment and outcomes were unsatisfactory.
Aim(s): This study aimed to identify the trends in the incidence of TNENs and evaluate the prognostic factors to guide treatment.
Materials and methods: Cases with TNENs were identified from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results cancer database (SEER). Incidences were calculated and the trends in incidence were described as annual percent change (APC). We analysed and identified prognostic factors among demographic information, tumor characteristics and treatment variables.
