Type 2 gastric neuroendocrine tumors almost all occur in patients with MEN1

Introduction: Type 2 gastric neuroendocrine tumor (gNET) is closely related to gastrinoma, but the cause of type 2 gNET tumors is still unknown.
Aim(s): To investigate the relationship between type 2 gNET and multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1) related gastrinoma.
Materials and methods: We retrospectively analysed the clinical features and their genetic test results of patients who were diagnosed as gastrinoma in the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University.
