Vasostatin-1 Predicts Recurrence in Patients Submitted to Surgery for Nonfunctioning Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (NF-PanNET)
#2934
Introduction: An association between preoperative Vasostatin-1 (VS-1) plasma level and pathological features of aggressiveness was previously reported in patients with surgically resected nonfunctioning (NF) PanNET.
Aim(s): To evaluate VS-1, in comparison with Chromogranin A (CgA), as predictor of disease recurrence.
Materials and methods: Patients who underwent surgery for localized NF-PanNET at San Raffaele Scientific Institute were included (n=50). VS-1 and total-CgA were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) on preoperative plasma samples.
