What role for the interim PET/CT with 68Ga-DOTA peptides in the evaluation of the early response to PRRT?
#3207
Introduction: Early evaluation by PET/CT during therapy has an important predictive value of the final response in some tumors (e.g. lymphomas).
Aim(s): The aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive value of early 68Ga-DOTA-peptide PET/CT (iPET) during Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) in tumors expressing somatostatin receptors.
Materials and methods: 53 patients with available baseline and iPET were enrolled. Semiquantitative parameters (SUVmax, SUVmean, Total Lesion Activity) and total volume (TV) were evaluated. For each PET scan we determined a maximum of 5 “target lesions” (total 185) for which we calculated the percentage change in TV, SUVmax, SUVmean and TLA. Spearman's and Wilcoxon's tests were used to evaluate the correlation between variables. The data were compared with the final response evaluated 3 months after PRRT.
