Ashley Grossman entered St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, and completed a degree in Psychology and Social Anthropology at the University of London. He subsequently trained at University College London, where he obtained a First-Class degree in Anatomy and was awarded the University Gold Medal.
In 1993, he was appointed Professor of Neuroendocrinology at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, later becoming Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Oxford and Senior Research Fellow at Green Templeton College. He is currently Consultant in Neuroendocrine Tumours at the Royal Free Hospital, London, and Professor of Endocrinology at Barts and The London School of Medicine.
Professor Grossman has received numerous international awards and has published more than 570 peer-reviewed papers and over 470 book chapters and reviews, with a particular focus on hypothalamic and pituitary tumours and endocrine oncology. He has served as President of the European Neuroendocrine Association (ENEA), President of the Society for Endocrinology (2012–2014), Chairman of UKINETS (2010–2012), President of the Pituitary Society (2015–2016), and is currently President of Endotext.
