Mairéad McNamara has a BSc in Biochemistry, a B Med Sci, MB BCh BAO and a PhD in Pharmacology. She obtained her certificate of satisfactory completion of specialist training (Medical Oncology) from the Royal College of Physicians Ireland and did a three year clinical research fellowship in Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, Canada (2011-2014).
She is ENETS CoE lead at The Christie, Manchester, UK. She chaired the Programme Organising Committee for the annual UK/Ireland NETS conference (2021-2023) and is a member of the NETs/endocrine tumour track: ESMO Congress 2025 Scientific Committee. She was track lead for the annual 2024 ASCO Meeting Education Committee: Gastroesophageal/Pancreatic/Hepatobiliary (including neuroendocrine) (member 2021-2024). She has been a member of the ENETS Advisory Board since 2023.
