Small intestinal neuroendocrine tumors (SI-NETs) often metastasize, especially to mesenteric lymph nodes, which are frequently affected by fibrosis reactions due to local serotonin secretion. Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) with177Lu-Dotatate has shown its efficacy in the treatment of progressive SI-NETs.

Grade 3 (G3) gastroenteropancreatic (GEP) neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) are rare diseases with a poor prognosis. FOLFIRINEC is a multicenter comparative phase II study of mFOLFIRINOX vs platinum-etoposide (PE) as first line treatment for metastatic G3 NEC of GEP or unknown origin.
