#4251 Upfront Oxaliplatin–Fluoropyrimidine chemotherapy and Somatostatin Analogues (SSA) in advanced well-differentiated G2/G3 gastro-entero-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs)

Introduction: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) are frequently diagnosed at advanced stage. For well-differentiated somatostatin receptor-positive (SSTR +) NETs, somatostatin analogues (SSAs) are the preferred first-line therapy. However, in patients (pts) with G2/G3 and a high tumor burden, SSA alone might not be enough.

#4237 Continuing Somatostatin Analogues Upon progression in Neuroendocrine tumor pAtients (SAUNA trial) – Study protocol for a bi-national, multi-center, open-label, randomised, pragmatic clinical trial

Introduction: Advanced gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP NET) are treated with targeted therapy or peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) (177Lu-DOTATATE) upon progression under somatostatin analogues (SSA). SSA are continued life-long in functional NET, but the benefit of SSA continuation in non-functional NET is unclear. Due to ongoing activity of the somatostatin receptor pathway in GEP NET progressing on SSA, we hypothesize an added efficacy of SSA during second-line therapy.

#4220 Risk of bowel ischemia in patients with mesenteric neuroendocrine tumors after treatment with 177Lutetium-DOTATATE

Introduction: 177Lutetium (Lu)-DOTATATE is an effective treatment for metastatic gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs). However, radiation can cause transient inflammation/swelling of tumors which can result in toxicity. Treatment-related small bowel obstruction associated with mesenteric or peritoneal disease has been described.
