Plasma Somatostatin: Gastrin Ratio Improves the Diagnosis of Gastrinoma
Introduction:
Fasting gastrin alone is inadequate for diagnosis of gastrinoma. Diagnosis requires confirmation of low gastric pH. Low gastric pH is associated with increased numbers of D (somatostatin) cells.
