#3258 Ga68-DOTATOC PET/CT clinical impact in patients with neuroendocrine tumors (preliminary results)

Introduction: Ga68-DOTATOC PET/CT enables the detection of cells with overexpression of somatostatin receptors, especially subtypes 2 and 5. This is the basis for its use in the study of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Detection of a higher number of lesions is not necessarily followed by a modification of therapeutic approach. From our point of view this is the main success of this technique the impact in the management of these patients.

#3029 Adrenocortical Carcinoma Metastasic in Adult on Complete Response with EDP-M and Local Therapy: A Single Case Report

Introduction: Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) in adults is a rare tumor (incidence 0.7-2/1000000/year). Median overall survival is 3-4 years and five-year survival is 0-28% in metastatic disease. The only curative therapy is complete surgical resection, plus adjuvant therapy depending on poor prognostic factors (ENSAT stage III, R1 resection or Ki67>10%). Both recurrent oligometastatic disease and patients who respond to systemic treatment (ST), a radical approach with surgery or local therapy (LT) may be treatment options.

#788 A Novel Animal Model for Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma

Introduction: Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is a neuroendocrine cancer originating from calcitonin-producing C-cells. Surgical resection is the most effective treatment currently available. Understanding the molecular pathways mediating MTC is crucial for the development of novel therapies. Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) and its activators, p35 and p25, have recently been implicated in MTC etiology. P25 is a cleavage product of p35 and the binding of p25 to Cdk5 leads to aberrant Cdk5 activity.
