#4349 Challenging management of ductal adenocarcinoma of the prostate with neuroendocrine differentiation: A case report

Introduction: Ductal adenocarcinoma of the prostate is a rare subtype of prostate cancer that arises from the ducts of the prostate gland. It is characterised by distinct histological features and a more aggressive clinical course. Neuroendocrine differentiation within this subtype is associated with a more aggressive phenotype and can lead to resistance to conventional androgen deprivation therapies.

#4208 The somatostatin system – A silent messenger in pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas?

Introduction: Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs) are rare neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) arising from neural crest-derived chromaffin cells. Due to the abundance of somatostatin receptors (SSTs) on the surface of most NENs, somatostatin analogues (SSAs) have become a cornerstone in their diagnosis and treatment. However, while PPGLs exhibit this feature, their functional responsiveness to SSAs remains limited, with the underlying cause of this resistance being still elusive.

#4103 The evolutionary history of metastatic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors reveals a therapy driven route to high-grade transformation

Introduction: Tumor evolution with acquisition of more aggressive disease characteristics is a hallmark of disseminated cancer. Metastatic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PanNETs) in particular, show frequent progression from a low/intermediate to a high-grade disease.

#3853 Determining the resistance to somatostatin analogues in pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas

Introduction: Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs) are rare neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) derived from chromaffin cells of the neural crest. Somatostatin analogues (SSAs) represent one of the pillars for NENs diagnosis/treatment due to the high density of somatostatin receptor (SSTs) in their membrane. However, although PPGLs share this characteristic, their response to SSAs is limited, being the reason underlying this unresponsiveness still unknown.
