#4500 Effectiveness of palbociclib plus letrozole as first line therapy of metastatic breast neuroendocrine carcinoma: A case report

Introduction: Palbociclib plus endocrine therapy is the standard treatment of advanced luminal breast cancer. However, we lack data on its effectiveness in breast neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC).

#1999 Study of Cell Cycle Protein Expression Pattern in Bronchial Carcinoids: A New Potential Target for Medical Therapy?

Introduction: Bronchial Carcinoids (BCs) are rare neuroendocrine neoplasms arising from respiratory epithelium. The only effective treatment option is surgery, but its efficacy is frequently limited by metastatic spread. Everolimus prolongs progression free survival but patients may develop resistance. Previous studies demonstrated that Everolimus reduces viability of NCI-H720 cells (Atypical Carcinoid) but not of NCI-H727 cells (Typical Carcinoid). Everolimus decreases Ciclyn D1 protein levels in both cell lines but NCI-H727 cells survive, indicating a derangement in cell cycle control.

#1507 The CDK4/6 Inhibitor Palbociclib Induces Anti-proliferative Mechanisms in Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms In Vitro

Introduction: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs) are rare tumors with heterogeneous molecular backgrounds and mostly unknown druggable driver mutations. Especially for the midgut NENs effective treatment options are limited. The retinoblastoma pathway is often inactive due to CDK4/6 overexpression in pancreatic NENs. Palbociclib is a FDA approved (ER-positive and HER2-negative breast cancer) cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6 inhibitor and might impair cell cycle progression and proliferation.
