A single institution experience of clinic-molecular characterisation and correlation with treatment outcomes in patients with advanced extrapulmonary high grade neuroendocrine carcinomas: The NIRVANA study
#4046
Introduction: The gene mutation profiles of extra-pulmonary (EP) neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) and mixed neuroendocrine / non-neuroendocrine carcinomas (MiNENs) are incompletely understood.
Aim(s): The purpose of this study is to retrospectively characterize the clinical and molecular features of EP-NECs and MiNENs consecutive assessed at European Institute of Oncology (Milan).
Materials and methods: Surgical/biopsies specimens of advanced EP-NECs and MiNENs were examined by clinical and morphological features review. All tumor samples were also evaluated by IHC for microsatellite instability (MSI) analyses and 26-gene panel by next-generation sequencing (NGS) using a targeted multi-genes panel.
