Association between age of initial diagnosis and prognosis of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms:A nation-wide 10-year retrospective clinical epidemiological study in China
#3356
Introduction: Previous research on the association between age of initial diagnosis and prognosis of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs) is rare in China.
Aim(s): This study aimed to describe the clinicopathological features and treatment information of patients in different age of initial diagnosis, and explore the associations between age of initial diagnosis and risk of deaths in Chinese patients with GEP-NENs.
Materials and methods: 2010 patients with GEP-NENs were enrolled from 21 hospitals of seven geographic regions in China from 2001 to 2010. Patients were divided into four groups according to age of initial diagnosis: less than or equal to 40 years, 41 to 50 years, 51 to 60 years, and more than 60 years. Patients’ general information, clinicopathological features, treatment information, and prognosis were collected from medical record based on the self-designed case report form (CRF).
