Characterisation of patients with neuroendocrine tumours in a specialised care institution in oncological endocrinology Bogotá, Colombia

Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) are heterogeneous malignancies that arise from the diffuse neuroendocrine system. Its incidence has increased in the last 3 decades. They have a relatively indolent growth rate and are capable of secreting peptide hormones and biogenic amines.
Aim(s): To describe the main demographic and clinical characteristics of patients diagnosed with NETs.
Materials and methods: Descriptive study with review of medical records corresponding to patients with a diagnosis of NET treated in the Oncological Endocrinology service, Colsubsidio clinic, Bogotá, Colombia, between January 2021 and October 2024.
