Characteristics and management of high grade gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms – A Belgian retrospective analysis from the DNET & NETwerk registry

#3887

Introduction: High grade gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (HG-GEPNEN) comprise neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) and well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (NETG3). These entities exhibit many differences in behaviour, prognosis and sensitivity to chemotherapy. Data about their optimal management are still scarce.

Aim(s): Compare characteristics, prognosis and treatment of a large cohort of Belgian HG-GEPNEN patients.

Materials and methods: We retrospectively reviewed pathological and clinical data from 24 Belgian centers, included in the DNET registry (www.bgdo.org/DNET) and the NETwerk database (OncoBase). A first descriptive analysis is presented, additional survival analysis is ongoing.
