Clinical epidemiology of upper gastrointestinal neuroendocrine neoplasms (UGI-NENs): A nationwide multi-center 10-year retrospective study

#3522

Introduction: The upper gastrointestinal neuroendocrine neoplasms (UGI-NEN) are the most common endocrine neoplasms (NEN), and the incidence has increased rapidly in recent years.

Aim(s): To investigate the differences in clinical epidemiological features of UGI-NEN in different regions of mainland China from 2001-2010.

Materials and methods: A total of 14 cancer hospitals, as well as 9 general hospitals, were selected from seven geographic regions in mainland China. Patients with complete case histories were selected for inclusion. All information was obtained using a standard case report form (CRF), which was designed by a multi-disciplinary team, and the CRF includes basic information, risk factors, and treatment information, etc. The identification number was used in the study to determine the geographical location of the patient.
