Clinical outcomes in patients with typical (TC) and atypical bronchial carcinoids (AC): A 15-year retrospective study from an ENETS Center of Excellence

#4667

Introduction: Bronchial neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) can be subdivided into TCs, ACs and neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs). Although a few studies have explored treatment approaches and oncological outcomes, most focus on surgical cohorts, small sample sizes, or mixed groups including TC, AC, and NECs. Real-life cohort data are lacking.

Aim(s): To describe recurrence, survival, and treatment patterns in a real-life cohort of patients (pts) with TC and AC.

Materials and methods: A single-centre retrospective study was conducted using a prospectively maintained bronchial NEN database extracting data on pts with TCs, ACs. Data on pt characteristics, histology, treatment modalities, recurrence-free survival (RFS), overall survival (OS) were collected.
