Evaluation of the Added Value of Diffusion-Weighted Imaging to Conventional MRI in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors and Comparison with 68Ga-DOTANOC PET/CT

#987

Introduction: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) are often difficult to detect because of small size and have variable prognosis related to grading and staging.

Aim(s): To investigate the added value of DWI in pNETs evaluation and to compare MRI results with those of 68GaDOTANOC PET/CT.

Materials and methods: MRI (morphological/DWI) and 68GaDOTANOC PET/CT in 25 patients/30 pNETs were retrospectively evaluated. Per-patient and per-lesion detection rates (pDR, lDR) were calculated. ADC values were compared among: - pNET, surrounding and normal pancreas (control group); - tumors different grading and staging groups.
