Fatigue and quality of life in patients with neuroendocrine neoplasia
#3552
Introduction: Neuroendocrine Neoplasms (NEN) are rare tumors and health related quality of life (HRQoL) may be modulated by the disease and the accompanying carcinoid syndrome seen especially in small intestinal NENs. Further, cancer related fatigue is one of the most common side effects of cancer and its treatments and may persist for years after treatment completion.
Aim(s): We aimed to quantify HRQoL and fatigue in out-patients.
Materials and methods: In a cross-sectional study, we included 231 patients with NEN (G1-G3). We distributed MFI-20 and EQ5D-5L questionnaires along with a baseline questionnaire and 85% responded. We collected clinical, biochemical, imaging, and pathology data from the Electronic Patient files. Normative values for fatigue and HRQoL were derived from background populations.
