Hormonal Ectopic Secretion Syndromes Associated to Neuroendocine Neoplasia
#3071
Introduction: Neuroendocrine neoplasias (NEN) are able to produce and secrete bioactive peptides and cause distinct syndromes related to their biological effects. The outcome will depend on the oncological disease as well as the hormonal syndrome
Aim(s): we analyzed in a group of patients with hormonal ectopic secretion syndrome associated to NEN, clinical presentation and if the outcome was conditionate by the hormonal secretion
Materials and methods: multicentric, retrospective study that included 28 patients with histologic diagnosis and/or image studies compatibles with NEN and hormonal ectopic secretion syndrome. Insulinomas were not included. The patients were divided in 2 groups: “Group Tumor” n=10 (when the tumor was diagnosed before the ectopic syndrome) and “Group hormone” n=18 (when the ectopic syndrome appeared before or synchronic with the tumor)
