Incidence of neuroendocrine neoplasms in Norway

#3638

Introduction: The incidence of neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) has been reported to increase over the last decades. The prevalence of NENs has to a lesser extent been reported.

Aim(s): We wanted to report the trends in incidence and prevalence of NEN in Norway from 1993 to 2021.

Materials and methods: Incidence and the complete prevalence was investigated through the Cancer Registry of Norway, which covers the whole Norwegian population and has been reported to be 99% complete. The neoplasms were classified into neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs).
