Intracardiac metastasis in well-differentiated ileal neuroendocrine tumor

#3890

Introduction: About 60% of well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors are diagnosed with metastatic disease, above all with liver involvement. The incidence of myocardial metastasis in patients with metastatic neuroendocrine tumor is less than 4%. These are mostly asymptomatic metastasis, so the diagnosis is often incidental.

Aim(s): Asymptomatic cardiac metastasis can be detected by Gallium-68 PET/CT scan during disease staging.

Materials and methods: We report the case of a 62-years-old man with accidental finding of cardiac metastasis in ileal neuroendocrine tumor diagnosis.
