Long-term prognosis of parenchyma-sparing vs. oncologic resections for distal pancreatic non-functional neuroendocrine tumours ≤ 3cm: A real-world data study (CSPAC-NEN-5)
#4430
Introduction: Studies show that parenchyma-sparing resections (PSR) for small, non-functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (NF-pNETs) provide long-term outcomes similar to oncologic resections (OR). However, these studies have not fully considered location-based differences in surgical approach and lymphatic drainage.
Aim(s): This study aims to assess distal NF-pNETs ≤ 3cm using real-world data from large pancreatic centres and compare the outcomes of PSR versus OR.
Materials and methods: Data from 2,494 patients diagnosed with pNETs at 11 centres between March 2006 and December 2023 were analysed. Among these, 523 cases of sporadic distal NF-pNETs meeting the inclusion criteria were included and divided into two groups: PSR (n=295) and OR (n=228).
