Molecular characterisation of extrapulmonary mixed adeno-neuroendocrine neoplasms (MiNENs): The NIRVANA sub study

#4466

Introduction: Extrapulmonary (EP) mixed neuroendocrine/non-neuroendocrine neoplasms (MiNENs) are rare cancers with a dismal prognosis. The gene mutation profiles are incompletely understood.

Aim(s): The purpose of this study is to retrospectively characterise the clinical and molecular features of EP-MiNENs consecutive assessed at European Institute of Oncology (Milan).

Materials and methods: Surgical/biopsies specimens of advanced MiNENs were examined by clinical and morphological features review. All tumour samples were also evaluated by immunohistochemistry (IHC) for microsatellite instability (MSI) analyses and a 26-gene panel by next-generation sequencing (NGS).
