Outcomes of surgical treatment for small bowel neuroendocrine neoplasms – The first preliminary results of the international study group for small bowel neuroendocrine neoplasm surgery registry

#3719

Introduction: Evidence for surgical treatment of small bowel neuroendocrine neoplasms (SB-NEN) often originates from single center studies. This is the first project of international study group for small bowel neuroendocrine neoplasm surgery, aiming to build and an observational registry to facilitate future research projects and randomized clinical trials.

Aim(s): We aimed to build and an observational registry to facilitate future research projects and randomized clinical trials.

Materials and methods: Six European centers added data to the registry of patients who underwent a surgical resection for SB-NEN between 2010-2022. Data was collected retrospectively. Main study parameters regarded pre-operative work-up, surgical techniques, pathological outcomes and survival outcomes. Subgroup analyses were performed comparing laparoscopic and open resections.
