Patterns of recurrence in patients with resected pulmonary carcinoid – A Dutch nationwide study

#3889

Introduction: In patients (pts) with resected pulmonary carcinoids (PC), recurrence of disease may occur up to 10 years after surgery, but the exact incidence remains unknown.

Aim(s): To evaluate recurrence-free interval (RFI) patterns in pts with PC.

Materials and methods: By combining the Dutch nation-wide pathology and cancer registries, all patients with surgically resected PC (2003-2012) were included in this analysis with follow-up (FU) until 02-2019. Staging was updated to TNM8 by screening of complete pathology reports and pts with stage IA-IIIB selected. Metastasis patterns were evaluated. RFI was defined as time to recurrence and evaluated using Kaplan Meier and multivariate Cox regression analysis.
