Poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas – Characteristics, treatments and outcomes from a population-based cohort discussed in our ENETS-CoE institute

#3846

Introduction: Poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) are rare malignancies with a dismal prognosis, few therapeutic options available and lacking predictive factors.

Aim(s): Describe patient and cancer characteristics, and their relations with clinical outcomes.

Materials and methods: Medical records of patients histologically diagnosed as NEC and discussed at the multidisciplinary tumor board of our institute between Oct 2018 and Aug 2022 were included. Lung, thymus, thyroid, skin and adrenal gland primaries were excluded, as well as non-neuroendocrine/neuroendocrine histology.
