Prediction of recurrence for grade 1-2 small bowel neuroendocrine neoplasms after curative-intended resection
#4217
Introduction: In patients with grade 1 to 2 small bowel neuroendocrine neoplasms (SB-NEN) reccurrence rates are reported up to 50%. No prediction tools exist yet to identify patients at high-risk for recurrence in SB-NENs.
Aim(s): To identify factors associated with recurrence 5 years after curative-intended resection and to develop and validate a nomogram.
Materials and methods: Patients from eight European centers with grade 1-2 SB-NEN who underwent curative-intended resection were retrospectively identified from the ISGSS database. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was performed to identify independent prognostic factors associated with recurrence. An internally validated nomogram was constructed based on these factors and assessed by means of discrimination, calibration, and clinical utility.
