Preoperative acute pancreatitis and hyperenzymemia are associated with poor prognosis in patients with non-functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors
#3604
Introduction: Acute pancreatitis (AP) and hyperenzymemia have been studied regarding their incidences and potential prognostic value in pancreatic cancer and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm. However, currently, the knowledge of the relationship between AP/ hyperenzymemia and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) is from few cases reports or series.
Aim(s): We aimed to investigate the prevalence of AP and hyperenzymemia as well as their clinical impact on postoperative survival outcomes in patients with PNETs.
Materials and methods: A retrospective cohort study of 151 patients who underwent radical surgical resection for non-functional PNETs (NF-PNETs) was conducted. Multivariate survival analysis was performed by the Cox proportional hazard model, with results expressed as hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence interval (CI).
