Surgery for pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms in patients with age ≥ 75 years

Introduction: With increasing of age and a wider use of diagnostic imaging there is an increase in findings of neuroendocrine tumors in elderly patients. Surgery, even in older people, may play an important curative role.

Aim(s): We evaluated the postoperative outcome and late results of patients undergoing surgery and the reason of excluding from surgical option people with ≥ 75 years.

Materials and methods: Clinical records of patients (pts) ≥75 years-old who were diagnosed with pNETs (1979 – 2021) were retrieved retrospectively.
