The value of 68Ga-Exendin-4 PET/CT for benign and metastatic insulinoma
#4323
Introduction: Insulinoma is the most common functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour which is difficult to locate by conventional imaging. 68Ga-exendin-4 PET/CT is a promising technique for detecting benign insulinomas but is not definite for metastatic insulinomas.
Aim(s): Our study aimed to determine the value of 68Ga-exendin-4 PET/CT for benign and metastatic insulinoma.
Materials and methods: We prospectively enrolled the patients with recurrent hypoglycaemia regardless of the existing pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour (pNET). According to our study protocols, 68Ga-exendin-4 PET/CT was performed 60 and 120 minutes after injection. 68Ga-DOTANOC PET/CT was performed in 7 days. The final results were confirmed by surgery or follow-up.
