Thymic neuroendocrine tumors: Case series from a Colombian hospital reference
#3454
Introduction: Thymic neuroendocrine tumors (tNET) are extremely rare, with a wide range of clinical manifestations, which can lead to underdiagnosis. Specific therapies have not been evaluated to improve survival.
Aim(s): Review the epidemiology of tNET in our population.
Materials and methods: A retrospective review was made of the medical records of the Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá Hospital from Colombia from January 2001-October 2021. We quantified the incidence of tNET by pathology records. Clinical, radiological, pathological, surgical procedures, and therapeutic data were collected; the degree of malignancy was analysed according to the Masoka-Koga classification.
