#4516 A methylation-based classifier for neuroendocrine tumour detection using smMIP technology
Introduction: DNA methylation plays an important role in NET pathogenesis. Distinct methylation profiles can differentiate between tumour subtypes, predict malignancy potential, and provide insights into tumour progression.

Introduction: Robust biomarkers to aid clinical management of patients (pts) with EP-NEC are lacking. cfDNA methylation profiling has shown higher sensitivity/specificity than cfDNA genome profiling in diagnosing and classifying various cancers, including Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC).

#4165 Detecting NET using Methylation-based biomarkers and the novel IMPRESS technology
Introduction: Due to current limitations, diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) is frequently delayed. Addressing this issue is crucial, necessitating the identification of new, adequate biomarkers. Our previous work highlighted the methylome as a promising source of biomarkers, enabling differentiation of NET vs. non-NET samples, and distinguishing based on tissue of origin (TOO).

#2846 Whole Genome DNA Methylation Profiling Identifies Neuroendocrine Tumor Origin
Introduction: Determining the origin of a neuroendocrine tumor (NET) of unknown primary can be challenging. Liver metastases can originate from any organ in the body, while pulmonary NETs can be metastases but also primary tumors. This especially holds true for Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1 patients, who often have multiple primary pancreatic and intestinal NETs. It is important to know the origin of the primary tumor since resection or ablation is crucial in case of treatment with curative intent. Furthermore, the site of origin determines prognosis, treatment options and eligibility for clinical trials.

#2139 Genome-Wide DNA Methylation Profiling of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: Frequent inactivation of epigenetic regulators ATRX and DAXX in pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) suggests an important role for epigenetic alterations in tumorigenesis. Few studies have been published regarding differential methylation patterns in PNETs and a thorough analysis of these alterations is currently lacking.
