#2150 Prognostic Value of Immunohistochemical Expression of Somatostatin Receptors (SS-R2 and SS-R5) in the Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors, Diagnosed in the University Hospital of Pleven, Bulgaria, from the Period 2010 to November 2017

Introduction: Sоmatostatin is a regulatory peptide with a variety of actions in normal and tumor cells. In recent years there are a lot of observations suggesting that the gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) expressed somatostatin receptors (SS-R).The expression could be valuable for the prognosis of patients with GEP-NETs due to the research evidence that well-differentiated tumors express SS-R in the great majority of the cases.

#1749 Changes in the Frequency and Epidemiology of the Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors, Diagnosed in the University Hospital of Pleven, Bulgaria from the Period 2010 to November 2016

Introduction: During the recent years there has been an observed tendency of increased frequency of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) all around the world due to the clinicians' improved knowledge about the diagnostic and treatment of these tumors. We have discovered a correlation between world tendency and the local tendency we have observed in the University Hospital of Pleven, Bulgaria from 2010 to November 2016.
