#3959 Sortilin: A novel marker and potential therapeutic target for functional neuroendocrine tumors

Introduction: A subset of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) causes a hormone-related disease (functional syndrome); e.g. carcinoid syndrome due to over-secretion of mainly serotonin. Notably, on a molecular level, what distinguishes this subset of functional NETs from nonfunctional tumors is unknown. Furthermore, accurate models of functional NETs are missing. Sortilin, a widely expressed transmembrane receptor, is expressed in many cancer cells, including NETs, and is involved in secretion processes.

#3934 The stromal microenvironment endows pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors with spatially specific invasive and metastatic phenotypes

Introduction: Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) play an important role in a variety of cancers. However, the heterogeneity of CAFs is poorly understood in non-functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NF-PanNETs). Profiling the heterogeneity of CAFs might reveal the causes of malignant phenotypes in NF-PanNETs.

#3010 International Validation of a Nomogram to Predict Recurrence after Resection of Grade 1 and 2 Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors

Introduction: A prediction model to predict recurrence within 5 years after surgery for nonfunctional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PanNets) was recently published. This model includes WHO tumor grade, lymph node status and perineural invasion as predictors.

#2185 Nonfunctional Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor (NF PNET) Imaging and Evaluation Using 18F-FDG and 68Ga- DOTANOC-PET/CT: Initial Data of a Prospective Study

Introduction: Predicting aggressive behavior of NF PNET still remains controversial. It is known that lymph node metastases are rare but possible also on small (1-2 cm) NF-PNET. Positive 18F-FDG-PET/CT avidity is associated with poor prognosis in NETs.

#2071 ElevatION:NET-201 A Phase II Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of PDR001 in Patients with Metastatic, Well-Differentiated NET of Pancreatic/GI/Thoracic Origin or Poorly-Differentiated GEP NEC Who Have Progressed on Prior Treatment

Introduction: Monoclonal antibody (mAb) inhibitors of immune checkpoints, including anti–PD-1 and anti–PD-L1, have become established treatment options in various solid tumors. However, there is a paucity of data on treatment effect of checkpoint inhibition in neuroendocrine tumors (NET) and neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC). PDR001 is a high-affinity, humanized IgG4 mAb directed against PD-1 that blocks the binding of PD-L1 and PD-L2 to PD-1.
