Characterisation and prognostic impact of carcinoid syndrome in bronchial neuroendocrine tumours

#4571

Introduction: Metastatic bronchial neuroendocrine tumours (MBNET) are associated with carcinoid syndrome in 10 to 40% of cases. Characteristics of carcinoid heart disease (CHD) are poorly described.

Aim(s): To explore the relationship between presence of carcinoid syndrome (CS), increased 5HIAA u levels and carcinoid heart disease (CHD) in patients with MBNET.

Materials and methods: Multicentric retrospective study including MBNET patients followed within one of the centres of the French ENDOCAN-RENATEN Network with CHD and or elevated urinary 5HIAA levels at any time were analysed.
