Clinicopathologic impact of peptide hormonal expression in rectal neuroendocrine tumor

#3355

Introduction: Although numerous types of neuroendocrine cells constitute GEP-NETs, the clinical behaviours and prognostic implications of multiple peptide hormonal expression have not been comprehensively evaluated in rectal NETs.

Aim(s): To identify clinicopathologic characteristics and the prognostic impact of peptide hormone expression.

Materials and methods: We evaluated the immunolabelling for glucagon, somatostatin, serotonin, insulin, and gastrin in 446 endoscopically or surgically resected rectal NETs.
