Dual 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose/68Gallium DOTATATE (FDG/DOTA) PET Predicts Overall Survival in Neuroendocrine Tumours (NET)
#1309
Introduction: 68Ga-DOTATATE (DOTA) and FDG PET have been utilised in NETs to aid diagnosis, prognostication and guide management. FDG PET avidity is associated with poor prognosis, but the prognostic significance of dual FDG/DOTA grading has not been explored.
Aim(s): We investigated the prognostic value of a novel FDG/DOTA grading scheme in patients with metastatic NETs.
Materials and methods: We identified patients with histologically diagnosed NET, who had both FDG and DOTA PET scans within 31 days of each other. A novel scoring scheme (NETPET) was developed. Two experienced nuclear medicine physicians scored the scans based on FDG avidity, DOTA avidity and relative concordance/discordant sites. Paired scans were scored from 1 (DOTA+, FDG- disease) to 5 (FDG+, DOTA- disease). The prognostic impact of NETPET score on overall survival (OS) was assessed.
