Ga-68 Somatostatin Receptor PET/CT in the Detection of Insulinoma

Introduction: Presence of somatostatin receptors on beta cells of pancreas is a matter of debate.

Aim(s): This retrospective study aimed at analysing the role of Ga-68 somatostatin receptor PET/CT (3-phase) in insulinoma patients (pts).

Materials and methods: We looked at the Ga-68 somatostatin receptor (SR) PET/CT (SR-PET) examination in pts with either suspicion of or histologically confirmed insulinomas between 01/2008 -11/2014. Diagnosis was based on either histopathology and/or biochemical assessment.
