How Long Should We Look Up for Recurrence After Resection of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors?

Introduction: There remains several unsolved issues to be settled about the management of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) after resection. One of these problems are the follow up period after a complete resection of the tumor.

Aim(s): We aimed to reveal the proper follow-up period after resection of PNETs.

Materials and methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with PNETs who were operated in Kyoto University Hospital during 1992-2013. Duration for recurrence were compared according to the grades of initial tumor resected in the primary operation. Pathological grading were determined according to the 2010 WHO criteria.
