Is addition of NETest to clinical parameters valuable in the prognostication of patients with Small Intestinal Neuroendocrine Tumors (SI-NET)?

#3480

Introduction: A previously established nomogram based on clinical parameters was associated with disease specific survival (DSS) in patients with SI-NET, yet it underestimated DSS. (1,2)

Aim(s): We hypothesized that the addition of NETest outcomes to the nomogram might aid in optimizing the prediction of DSS and progression free survival (PFS).

Materials and methods: Consecutive patients were included between 2000-2018. A NETest sample was collected in a random subgroup of these patients. Backwards cox regression was performed for identification of parameters with strongest association with DSS and included in multivariable models for predicting DSS and PFS. Subsequently, NETest outcomes (cut-off of 40%) was included in the models.
