Liver transplantation for neuroendocrine tumor liver metastases: UK and Ireland’s pioneering pilot programme
#4092
Introduction: The incidence of neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) continues to rise. Liver metastases (LM) are commonly present at diagnosis. Liver transplantation (LT) has become an applicable treatment for a subset of these patients.
Aim(s): The UK's national LT program, developed under the NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) authority and the Liver Advisory Group (LAG), has now successfully conducted LT in three patients in the UK; one each at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, King's College London and Royal Free Hospital London.
