Mechanisms of Main Pancreatic Duct Dilatation in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (PanNETs): Radiopathologic Correlation

#2261

Introduction: Main pancreatic duct (MPD) dilatation, a frequent observation in cases with adenocarcinoma can also be observed in patients with PanNET.

Aim(s): Describe the patho-radiological aspects of PanNET with MPD dilatation.

Materials and methods: From 2006 to 2016 all consecutive patients with proven PanNET and MPD dilatation seen on pre-operative MRI were included. MR images were independently reviewed by two radiologists. Histopathologic analysis included fibrosis quantification, microvessel density [MVD], hypoxia markers, and serotonin expression.
