Sex differences in survival of neuroendocrine neoplasia in England 1995–2018

#3580

Introduction: Sex differences have been noted at different sites of Neuroendocrine Neoplasia in some registry studies internationally. Analysis of England's National Cancer Registry and Analysis Service (NCRAS) data can help to clarify the significance and importance of this.

Aim(s): To examine neuroendocrine neoplasia survival by sex, site and stage.

Materials and methods: Data was obtained from NCRAS via Public Health England. Goblet cell carcinoma, Merkel and adenoneuroendocrine were excluded from survival analysis. NEN before 2012 were excluded due to historic coding and recording variability. Tumors were grouped as neuroendocrine tumor (NET) or neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) based on morphology codes. Large and small cell tumors were included within NEC. Kaplan Meier estimates of survival and Cox multiple regression were performed.
